Every pastor wants to start well, serve well, and finish well. The One who called us to both salvation and ministry promises to complete what He started in us.
I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will caryy it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Phil 1:6)
Although God will be faithful throughout our entire journey, we must ask whether we will reciprocate that faithfulness or limp across the finish line. No one is more responsible for my life and health than I am. In a recent interview with Baptist Press, I talked about how to prepare for a strong ministry finish.
“We (pastors) probably won’t ever fully exit ministry,” Dance told Baptist Press. “But when we transition, are we going to do it well?”
I hope this Baptist Press article and video interview will be helpful and encouraging to pastors as well as other ministry leaders.
